Post-doc fellow position at Wadsworth Center, Albany, New York, USA

An NSF funded Bayesian postdoctoral fellow position is available to study gene regulation by microRNAs in our RNA Bioinformatics lab (http://sfold.wadsworth.org), at Wadsworth Center in Albany, upstate New York. The project will involve Bayesian modeling and analysis of large expression data for both microRNAs and mRNAs from hundreds of cancer cell lines (e.g., see Huang et al 2007) for improved microRNA target predictions, and for subsequent Gene Ontology (GO) analysis, analysis on the effects of deregulation of microRNAs on regulatory pathways, and identification of novel microRNA/protein networks. Strong background in Bayesian statistics methods and experience with Bayesian modeling, analysis and computation, and basic knowledge of molecular biology are essential.
