Job Title: Postdoctoral Scientist for RNA-omics, the Bioinformatics/
Computational Biology of RNA

Location: Laboratoire de Recherche en Informatique (LRI), Université
Paris-Sud 11, Orsay, France

A 1-year postdoctoral position, possibly renewable up to total of 3
years, is funded by the Foundation Digiteo-Triangle de la Physique for
algorithm development/implementation in research concerning
ribonucleic acid (RNA). The research work concerns noncoding RNA gene
finders, RNA 3-dimensional motif detection and discovery, aspects of
secondary and tertiary structure, de novo RNA design.

The postdoctoral associate will work in collaboration with the Labs of
Peter Clote and of Alain Denise. Peter Clote is Professor of Biology
at Boston College and recent recipient of the Digiteo Chair of
Excellence for the duration of this RNA-omics project. Alain Denise is
Professor of Bioinformatics at the Laboratoire de Recherche en
Informatique (LRI) and at the Institut de Génétique et Microbiologie
(IGM) at Université Paris-Sud 11

Qualifications: The successful applicant must hold a Ph.D. in
computational biology/bioinformatics, computer science or related
field such as physics, mathematics, as well and familiarity with
structural biology. Strong skills in algorithm design and C/C++
implementation and some experience in HTML and CGI scripting are
necessary; experience in Python, databases, SQL and open MP are
considered a plus.
