Research Associate in Statistical Genomics and Systems Biology : Paddington, London

Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Research Associate in
mathematics/statistics or a related quantitative subject to join the
research team at Imperial College working collaboratively with
universities in Sweden, Norway, Germany and the United Kingdom on a
project at the intersection of the two fast-moving fields of genomics
and systems biology.

This project takes a systems biology approach to understanding
allergic rhinitis, and will seek to integrate data from multiple
biological levels (including the genome, methylome, transcriptome and
proteome) in order to reconstruct biological pathways involved in
disease progression in response to a known allergen. The successful
applicant will lead the analysis of data generated by this project as
well as develop novel statistical methodology for this field.

Candidates will have a PhD or equivalent in Statistics, Mathematics,
Computer science, Bioinformatics or a related field. The ideal
candidate will also have experience of managing and analysing large
data sets and a strong background in modern statistics.

The post is full time for a fixed-term of 3 years and will be based at
the St Mary’s hospital campus.

Salary £26,580 – £38,730 per annum
