Job Description:
1) Manage all operations of the laboratory, including the processing and technical laboratory.
2) Oversee the preparation of work schedules to provide coverage and effective utilization of workforce.
3) Responsible for the evaluation of job performances of personnel; counsels and disciplines personnel when appropriate.
4) Assist QC Coordinator with identification and resolution of lab quality concerns.
5) provides back-up and relief support to lab as required.
6) Optimize the workload of all sections by establishing priority of work flow.
7) Uphold policies and procedures by ensuring that all sections are in compliance with accrediting and regulatory agency at all times; responsible for the validity and accuracy of test results.
8) Responsible for the quality control of all sections by ensuring that instrumentation is functioning properly and that equipment is properly maintained by keeping preventative maintenance and function verification records current on all equipment.
9) Monitor inventory control of all sections.
10)Maintain current written procedures by reviewing and revising as needed.
11)Must be able to perform any and all duties of direct reports.
12)Must be able to perform all functions in all job descriptions of the laboratory.
13)Responsible for expense controls and budgets for the laboratory.
14)Responsible for statistical report analysis of workload, productivity, charges, revenue and expenses.
15)Development of screening and interviewing techniques.
16)Analysis of work flow and work load Maintaining complete and accurate employee records Providing proper training Strengthening supervisory personnel Proper delegation to subordinates.
17)Solving problems quickly and effectively.
18)Must adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Candidate Profile:
1) A Masters or Phd in Molecular Biology or related field with minimum of 6 (3) to 10 (5) years experience in the use, sale and marketing of molecular biology products including DNA microarrays, oligonucleotides etc.
2) A strong understanding of the molecular biology market required.
