Project Details: (1) Biophysics of DNA and DNA-protein interactions. The experiments are performed using magnetic and optical tweezers together with nanostructured channel systems. (2) Genomics. Analysis of genomic material, initially from simple model systems, at a later stage from whole cells. The experiments are done using advanced fluorescence microscopy on DNA stretched in nanochannels. 

Work Details: The postdoc is expected to work in an interdisciplinary manner and be responsible for all aspects of the project: nanofabrication of the channels (at MC2); microscopy; sample preparation; image processing; interpretation of data; experimental design. 

Funding: The project is funded through a large European collaborative project with in total 16 academic and commercial institutions as well as a grant from the Human Frontier Science Program.
