Project Positions in Calcutta University | Salary: 16000/- | M.Sc Life Sciences can apply

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the post of Two JRFs in the project funded by the DBT , Govt. of India under the supervision of Dr. Nilanjan Deb ,Department of Agronomy. (Agro-Biotech Laboratory) IAS , C.U. 35, B.C.Road , Kolkata-700019. Tenure of the project in Two Years at present. The posts are purely temporary and coterminus
with the project.

Title: Collection, Characterization and screening of Potential Micro Algae from W.B. & Orissa Coast and Pilot Scale Demonstration of Algal Oil Production”
Qualification: Candidates should have a master degree in any field of Biological Science having consistently good academic record. NET /GATE qualified candidates are preferred.
Remuneration - Rs. 12000/-+ admissible allowance as per norms of C.U. per month.

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for One Project Fellow and one Research Associate in the project entitled “Development of Chromosome Database for plants “funded by DBT, Govt. of India under the guidance of Prof. Sumita Jha (PI) ,Centre of Advanced Study, Department of Botany, C.U.

Qualification required: 

Research Associate-Ph.D in any Branch of Life Science with experience in Bioinformatics.
Project Associate: First Class M.Sc. in Botany with specialization in Advanced Cell Biology/ Plant Genetics and Genomics/ Plant Tissue Culture
Emoluments: Rs.16000/- pm + admissible allowances per month as sanction of funding agency and as per norms of University for Research Associate; Rs.8000/- pm(fixed) for Project Associate.

Candidates are requested to submit two sets of Applications furnishing Biodata on plain paper with attested copies of testimonials to Prof.S.Jha, CAS, Department of Botany, CU; 35 Ballygunge Circular Road Kolkata 700 019 on or before 25.08.2009. No TA/DA will be admissible for interview.
